Farmer Fleming...

A great thought of a great man...

I could not wait to share it with you...a great lesson ahead...

In spite of all the change around you, decide upon what you will never change: your core values.
Take your time to decide what they are but once you do, do not compromise on them for any reason. Integrity is one such value. These have contributed to our success, including our parents and others from our society.
All of us have a responsibility to utilize our potential for making our nation a better place for others, who may not be as well endowed as us, or as fortunate in having the opportunities that we have got.
Let us do our bit, because doing one good deed can have multiple benefits not only for us but also for many others. Let me end my talk with a small story I came across some time back, which illustrates this very well.

This is a story of a poor Scottish farmer named Fleming. One day, while trying to make a living for his family, he heard a cry for help coming from a nearby bog.
He dropped his tools and ran to the bog. There, mired to his waist in black muck, was a terrified boy, screaming and struggling to free himself.
Farmer Fleming saved the boy from what could have been a slow and terrifying death. The next day, a fancy carriage pulled up to the Scotsman's sparse surroundings. An elegantly dressed nobleman stepped out and introduced himself as the father of the boy Farmer Fleming had saved.
"I want to repay you," said the nobleman. "Yes" the farmer replied proudly. "I'll make you a deal. Let me take your son and give him a good education. If he's anything like his father, he'll grow to be a man you can be proud of." And that he did.
Over time, Farmer Fleming's son graduated from St Mary's Hospital Medical School in London, and went on to become known throughout the world as the noted Sir Alexander Fleming, the discoverer of Penicillin.
Years afterward, the nobleman's son was stricken with pneumonia. What saved him? Penicillin. This is not the end.
The nobleman's son also made a great contribution to the society. For the nobleman was none other than Lord Randolph Churchill, and his son's name was Winston Churchill.
Let us use all our talent, competence and energy for creating peace and happiness for the nation.

dOnKey story...!!!

I came across this interesting story some time ago, i thought of sharing it to the handful of people who r following my blog or occasionally read it for the fear of their lives...:

The story has a deep meaning inside....hope u'll like it...

One day a farmer's donkey fell into a well. The animal cried piteously for hours as the farmer tried to figure out what to do.
Finally he decided the animal was old and the well needed to be covered up anyway - it just wasn't worth it to retrieve the donkey.
He invited all his neighbours to come over and help him. They all grabbed a shovel and began to scoop dirt into the well. At first, the donkey realising what was happening, cried horribly. Then, to everyone's amazement he became quiet.
A few shovels later, the farmer finally looked down the well and was astonished at what he saw. With every shovel of dirt that fell on his back, the donkey was doing something amazing. He shook it off and took a step up.
As the farmer's neighbours continued to shovel dirt on top of the animal, he shook it off and took a step up. Pretty soon, everyone was amazed as the donkey stepped up over the edge of the well and totted off!

Life is going to shovel dirt on you, all kinds of dirt. The trick is too not to get bogged down by it. We can get out of the deepest wells by not stopping. And by never giving up. Shake it off and take a step up.

The story states back to the first time we entered our university gate for our first examination with fears in our hearts and dreams in our eyes to score better and better in the examination which was our another chance to show our mental after our AIEEE rank and specially for students like me for whom it was the only chance since we already lost the first mental war. Hardly a few of the students were there who could manage to save themselves from the embarrassment at the hands of the seniors which most of us could not. This gave those students an edge over us but I hardly felt ashamed of it as I was with the majority. So, after losing in every part of the game being played so far there was a bit of an inferiority complex in me which I could nicely manage for I had praticed it with patience since time immemorial.

So, while revising all the stuff that we have studied the last night, and haven't even taken a bath to preserve it from being washed away. Here goes another famous belief of ours which stated that -

One should not take bath, however inclement the conditions be, in order to preserve the hard memorized words which stick to the body.

...continuing ....while revising all the stuff, and in order to take a path which was a little odd and so, less traversed too, we went on to a new path with out even having a rarest of the idea that this path can have a serious impact on our lives which we are gonna remember our whole life ...hopefully, if my short term memory loss doesn't convert into long term one.

After that examination was over and yet again I lost the battle, but there was relief in my mind as now I knew that I am not gonna win the battle. Anyways the story remains there only with me scoring considerably less than my friends but again and again traversing the same path in every exam until the path became more than just a place for loneliness - it now has become a tradition, the most important of all the handful of traditions being followed by a handful of us. We also gave it a name ...Euler's path...in the loving memory of the mathematician Euler whose evil works were troubling us to its most.

This path has now become a tradition for us and we follow it every time we go out for the examination, even as the path now costs us nearly a 100 yards of extra traversal, but we think that the tradition is worth it because it gives immense strength to us mentally, and we think that this brings us luck and we are in desperate need of it.

nO nOT a...GAIN ...!!!

nO....nOt a...GAIN ...!!!

These were the words that instantaneously came of my mouth when I heard the shocking news which almost took the soil off my feet. No points for guessing that the news was of nothing other than of our biggest fears coming true. yup... TCS has withdrawn its recruitment from our college. This almost is as shocking for us as the news of it's arrival was, after the incident which occurred two years back when according to the internal sources, TCS withdrew its recruitment never to return back to our college. Now most of us could understand what our seniors have felt at that time when one of our biggest recruiters has broken the 5 year bond only in the second yr.

It was the dream company for most of us, more for the people like me who have missed a chance in the Infy recruitment and could not make it to the second round. To add to the pain most of us have nearly mugged up the GRE 12th edition without even bothering to know the meanings or most of the words, and now, all the effort was going in vain.

We all had an idea that the recruitment could be postponed or to be a little hard even cancelled. But we all got a bit of relief when the link to the TCS recruitment was not removed from the not so often updated site of the college. To lessen our adrenalin flow there were often times when we visited the college sites more number of times in a day than we have visited it the last year. But after 3-4 days when the news of relief were flowing in from various sources about the removal of the deemed status of the college, no one even in his wildest dreams have thought that TCS could now cancel it's recruitment.

But it was the truth and most of us are trying hard to accept it. I even figured out a way to get out of depression, it actually is a mail which depicts the different shades of life and shows that life is not as humble to most as it is with us. That heart touching mail is the only way to gain relief apart from our psycho flatmate DD, I hope no one would be interested to expand the abbreviation, but this is in agreement to the famous belief that big things come in a small packages.

There is a line which I stole of late and somehow it automatically came to mind mind as a self motivator ....

Dilemma

As the news of the disapproval of the deemed status of about 4 dozen universities flashed in the news, most of us were in a state of dilemma of whether to laugh or worry about. This news spread like fire in the woods and so was the increment in the excitement of the students who thought that this would cause an unexpected end to their careers or if not so at least it would cause a delay in their results. The rift was much more prominent among those who had 555 better plans for their future. This mass mainly students who were placed in some organisation or the other or those students who were serious about their higher studies, though not to mention that this excluded those for whom filing for the CAT and GATE form was more of a tradition than their career choice.

The news came in the late hours of the day when for most of us the day has just begun and the activeness an the muscles has just started building. But, the news created an unexpected rift amongst the students for whom there were other reasons too to worry about including the recruitment of TCS and the not too important factor EXAMS. Apart from all these, it was astonishing to see that even those students whose buried themselves under their beds for the two reasons stated earlier, came out of it to join hands in the time of dilemma in which nothing was difficult to say about the futures of about 2 lakh students nationwide.

The situation was even worse for the students like us who studied in a university which had no parent since time immemorial but now was going to be adopted by some university and that too on mercy grounds. The newspapers too were doing their best to break our morals by publishing articles which were in some way or the other going against our favor.

But the only think that was good was that the dilemma did not last long and finally a bit of relief was gained as we got to know that all those students who have been enrolled in the times when the university had the deemed status, would get their respective degrees having the deemed status and they would be spared of the embarrassment of carrying different colored mark-sheets with them to the company office.

X-per-I-ment-I-ng ...

Blogging...the word fascinated me of late. So now, at last I decided to take the risk of creating a blog of my own. Though I can't think of any matter right now to post on this blog, but I can assure that as soon as the trauma is over I would be posting lots and lots of stuff. As the people who know me usually wonder from where do I get all these weird topics to talk upon and to add to that from where do I get all the matter on those weird topics which almost leaves them with two options - either to kill themselves or me.

That was a bit of fun but I am serious too at times. So, different posts might reveal different moods of me and the only thing you should need to read my blog is of course patience.
